Graduate Student Symposium
Graduate Student Symposium

The College of Engineering’s Graduate Student Advisory Board (GeSAB) is hosting a Graduate Student Symposium on Friday, February 26 from 9 a.m.–5 p.m. virtually, during Engineer's Week (E-Week) 2021.

Our College of Engineering graduate students will have the opportunity to present the keynotes and session talks, and compete in the 3in5 Pitch Competition, Design Competition, and participate in the Multimedia/Poster Session virtually.

GeSAB is now accepting submissions to participate in one of the following areas:

Keynotes: 25-minute talks which encompass a holistic view of an engineering topic and aligns with the E-Week 2021 theme, Blast from Engineering Past.

Session Talks: 15-minute talks to occur within a series of presentations that share a commonality. The sessions are open to showcase research at all stages. Examples include: research ideas, review of a topic, proposals, and research results.

Design Competition: Gather an interdisciplinary team and submit a creative solution to an engineering challenge, such as the Engineering Grand Challenges. Teams should be 2-4 participants with a minimum of 2 different programs/majors and a mix of undergraduate and graduate student teams are encouraged. Judges will represent multiple disciplines. Grand Prize is $500.

3in5 Pitch Competition: Nine participants will have 3 slides to promote their idea to a panel of judges in 5 minutes with no question and answer period. Judges will represent multiple disciplines. Grand Prize is $500.

Multimedia/Poster Session: Expanding the traditional poster session format, 20 participants will present their research through various means. Judges will represent multiple disciplines. Grand Prize is $500.
