Safer Community — the smartphone app that will be used with saliva-based COVID-19 testing in the spring semester — is available for download.
The app, available here for Apple users and here for Android users, is the easiest and best way to navigate the testing process. It allows users to schedule tests and will notify you of results, likely within 24 hours.
Chancellor Ronnie Green announced the testing program on Jan. 11. As part of the new protocols, all students, instructors and staff who will be on campus in the spring semester must complete at least two rounds of saliva-based testing for the virus. To be on campus for the start of the semester, the first test must be completed with a negative result by Jan. 25.
Individuals who do not have a smartphone can schedule tests and obtain results online.
Before downloading the app and scheduling a test, all students must complete the Spring 2021 Cornhusker Commitment in MyRED and a 10-minute training video.
