Interns in this position would:
• Develop radio features in a C++ embedded Linux environment
• Develop radio support/test applications in Visual C++/QT environment
• Develop microcontroller/DSP software
• Work with an accomplished team of engineers that follow established design processes

Qualifications: junior, senior or graduate student in computer engineering, electrical engineering or computer science with strong GPA.

PRIMARY PURPOSE: Develop application based software for our subscriber product line using Microsoft Visual C++ along with Nokia QT. Projects include Land Mobile Radio programming and IP data routing applications.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
• Land Mobile Radio application development in C++ / QT
• Implementation of IP data routing applications
• Read, Interpret, and Implement Land Mobile Radio Communication Standards
• Responds to special assignments/projects as directed by management, with an attitude and willingness conducive to getting the job done. Responds with a level of urgency consistent with the situation.
• Establishes and maintains good inter/intra departmental communications and the highest level of credibility with coworkers at all levels.
• Exhibits desirable and appropriate professional behavior including leadership, sense of urgency, independent judgment, teamwork, ability to get along with others, creative thinking and personal integrity to provide for a cohesive, productive unit dedicated to the achievement of corporate goals.
• Agrees to abide by the established Approval Matrix.

REQUIRED EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
Enrollment in a program that will result in a Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science or Computer Engineering (senior status preferred).
Experience with of C++ / C
Knowledge of IP routing protocols a plus
Knowledge or interest in Land Mobile Radio a plus

COMPETENCIES:
Must possess excellent interpersonal skills.
Must be a self-starter and require minimal supervision.
