The Department of Statistics, in collaboration with the Department of Mathematics, at the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign is beginning a new summer research program to honor the late great mathematical statistician, Dr. David H. Blackwell, called the David H. Blackwell Summer Scholars Program.

The departments are excitedly reaching out to find prospective students (rising juniors and seniors) interested in learning more about statistics, data science, and mathematics in a paid intensive six-week program beginning May 24, 2021, and ending July 2, 2021. The initial program is taking place remotely via online sessions and seminars with faculty, graduate students, and affiliate campus units.

The deadline to apply is March 1, 2020, and we will send out acceptance notices on March 15, 2020.
