MECH 451/851: Finite Element Analysis
• Learn concepts of Finite Element Analysis, how FEA works, why it works, and how it can fail to work. Find heat flux, concentration, stresses and strains in solids, etc.
• Perform Finite Element analysis (including convergence) for e.g. heat/mass flow, elasticity. Solve 2D/3D problems using FEM software. Write your own FE code for simple problems.
• Understand limitations and range of application of Finite Element solutions.
