The Student Impact Awards were announced for 2021-22 by Student Leadership, Involvement, and Community Engagement at a reception on April 14.

The awards celebrate the outstanding contributions to the University of Nebraska-Lincoln community by the more than 550 Recognized Student Organizations (RSOs) and their leaders. This year's nominees included 19 organizations and 23 individuals.

Computer science major Caitlin McCarthy received an Outstanding Student Organization Officer award for her leadership and involvement with the University of Nebraska Dance Marathon.

University of Nebraska Dance Marathon is an organization with a goal of raising funds and awareness for Children’s Hospital and Medical Center in Omaha. Every year, members recruit students from all over campus to come together and fundraise for the hospital and Miracle Kids. In total, UNDM has raised $1,669,944.58.

Congratulations to Caitlin McCarthy on this outstanding achievement! We applaud her efforts to make a difference in the university community and the lives of others.
