Duncan, Vuran recognized at COE professorships ceremony

The College of Engineering held its annual professorships ceremony on Sept. 15. School of Computing faculty Brittany Duncan and Mehmet Can Vuran were recognized at the ceremony.

Brittany Duncan was named Ross McCollum Associate Professor. Duncan was awarded the professorship based on teaching and research abilities and accomplishments as well as academic promise. The 4-year professorship includes an annual fund of $10,000 that may be used for faculty stipends and/or discretionary expenses.

Mehmet Can Vuran was named Dale M. Jensen Professor of Computer Science. Vuran was awarded the the professorship based on teaching and research abilities and accomplishments in Computer Science and Engineering as well as academic promise. The 5-year professorship includes an annual stipend of $10,000 and an annual discretionary fund of $10,000.
