The Computer Science Department at the University of Iowa will conduct a 10-week summer research program (May 22–July 28, 2023) funded by the National Science Foundation (NSF). The site is motivated by the considerable strain on the U.S. healthcare system due to short-term challenges, such as those posed by the COVID-19 outbreak, and long-term trends, such as an aging U.S. population. Computer scientists are in a unique position to help solve these and other problems in health and well-being. Ten participants will join their faculty mentor's research group to work on interdisciplinary projects.

Qualifications:
• US citizen or permanent resident
• Major in Computer Science or related field
• Available to attend entire 10 weeks
• Full time student in good academic standing
• Returning for at least one semester of undergraduate study before graduation
• Students from populations underrepresented in STEM fields or from academic institutions with limited research opportunities are encouraged to apply
• Students with disabilities are encouraged to apply
