Join School of Computing professor Dr. Mehmet Can Vuran on Sunday, May 21 from 12-3 PM at Morrill Hall to talk about wireless communications at the university's Sunday with a Scientist event.

Have you ever wondered how your phone or Wi-Fi actually works? Can we “see” wireless signals? Can we play with them? The "Play with Wireless Communications" event is a fun and educational opportunity for children to learn about wireless technology concepts. You'll get to explore the world of wireless communication and how different wireless technologies have evolved over time. You’ll broadcast your voice over FM channels, discover communication technologies used in Internet of Things, learn about base stations and how they connect cellphones to the Internet. You'll also explore the open nature of wireless transmission and learn about the newest wireless technology, mmWave spectrum. Through interactive exhibits and activities, you'll learn how these wireless signals are sent and received, and how they allow us to connect to the world around us.

Join and discover the exciting world of wireless communications!
