MINK-WIC

The MINK-WIC (Missouri, Iowa, Nebraska, Kansas Women in Computing) conference is back! This year, the conference will be held in Kansas City, KS, on October 27-28 (Friday-Saturday).

In addition to hosting a Career Fair, the MINK-WIC conference this year will have new ways for student attendees to interact with others including faculty, fellow students, and industry representatives. The conference encourages students to present their work in the following three tracks: posters, lightning talks, and undergraduate/graduate research.

Please check out the website for more info.

This is a good opportunity for students to attend a conference with your peers, learning from the talks, networking, practicing your communication skills, showcasing your work, and participating in a regional Career Fair. This year's keynote speaker is Dr. Helen Gebre-Amlak, a principal software engineer.

Tthe School of Computing will provide travel support to reimburse up to $500 per student for up to 20 student attendees. We will also give preference to students who present—in the poster, lightning talk, or research tracks—at the MINK-WIC conference.

View the submission deadlines and expectations for each of the three track.

In addition, if you are interested in attending the MINK-WIC conference and having your trip reimbursed, please fill out this form by October 6, 2023.
