On July 26, Chancellor Rodney Bennett declared an instructional continuity day for Aug. 30 — Volleyball Day in Nebraska.
On an instructional continuity day, in-person classes will not be held, but students should check with their instructors for information on class work and lectures.
The Nebraska volleyball program will host a doubleheader in Memorial Stadium, followed by a concert by country artist Scotty McCreery. The University of Nebraska at Kearney will play Wayne State College in an exhibition match at 4:30 p.m. The Huskers will take on the University of Nebraska at Omaha at 7 p.m. Gates open at 3:30 p.m.
With the expected influx of 91,000 fans, Chancellor Bennett announced academic spaces on City, East and Innovation campuses will be closed to all activities not connected directly to the events in Memorial Stadium and other critical functions that require in-person working.
Following are additional details:
No in-person classes
Classes will not meet in person, and the majority of campus offices/facilities will be closed. Students should check for communications from their instructors for instructional continuity plans; only essential employees should report to work on campus; and all other employees should work remotely. Employees should consult with their supervisor to confirm if they are to work remotely or report to campus.
Building access
Most academic buildings will only be accessible via NCard on Aug. 30. University Libraries will remain open to the campus community. The Nebraska Union, including the bookstore, will be open to the public. The College of Law, College of Dentistry and University Health Center also plan to be open. And, all visitors should go online or call ahead to confirm hours of other campus venues (museums, theaters, shops, etc.).
Adjusted hours
Student Affairs has compiled a list of adjusted hours and services for campus entities. The list can be found here.
