Microsoft is holding its Imagine Cup competition, which allows students to take their academic knowledge and apply it to real-world applications. The World Finals will be held in Russia in 2013, giving participants a chance to win a $50K cash prize and various grants.
Participants will have the choice of participating in six categories: Games, Azure, Innovation, Windows Phone, World Citizenship, and Windows 8. Applications include building apps, creating games, and reinventing social networks. The competition will help students to develop technical skills to help them in their careers and provide the opportunity for students to possibly launch careers based off of the projects through Imagine Cup Grants.
