Attend carpentry workshop at GPN Annual Meeting

The Great Plains Network in collaboration with the Holland Computing Center at the University of Nebraska-Lincoln is hosting a carpentries-style workshop at the Great Plains Network Annual Meeting, introducing the fundamentals of the Unix command command line and bash scripting. Participants will get hands-on experience with the command line to further enable their research.Topics covered include:

• What is the Unix shell and why is it useful for my research?
• Navigation using a command line
• How to create and manipulate files
• How to begin automating repetitive tasks

No prior experience with Bash or using the command line is required. A laptop will be required, but no additional software will be needed other than a web browser. This workshop is open to students and researchers of all level and will provide hands-on experience with valuable skills to improve your workflows and tasks.

This workshop session is FREE but has limited space. The registration link needs a code for free attendance to only the carpentry workshop. If you wish to attend other sessions at the GPN Annual Meeting, you will need additional registration here.
