Description: This course explores the ethical considerations in the design of autonomous vehicles. These vehicles provide an important application of artificial intelligence and one that imposes safety-critical considerations. Readings and discussion will study the characteristics of autonomous vehicle technology, their relationship to engineering and computing design practices, and the applicability of ethical and legal considerations to those design practices.
