Design Thinking as the Basis for Strategy
Based on the IDEO / Stanford d.School Model, this course will teach and explore design thinking as a practice of deep understanding, experimentation, and iteration—especially as a basis for software and service design (but also any innovation). The course is intended for a cohort of interdisciplinary students, with a focus on the design thinking process, and oriented towards:
• effective collaboration
• deep understanding of people, systems and opportunities
• being open to (and excited about!) divergent thinking
• experimentation, testing…
• …and iteration
• thinking of layers of problems and effort, from surface all the way down to scope and strategy
