Students are invited to participate in an eye tracking study conducted in the School of Computing under the supervision of Dr. Nirnimesh Ghose and Dr. Bonita Sharif. This project has been approved by the IRB.
As part of the study, students will be asked to login to five websites—Microsoft, Spotify, Google, Amazon, and LinkedIn—in that order, and do the following tasks:
• Memorize 5 email/password combinations for the above websites. The email/password combinations will be provided.
• Complete a mandatory daily quiz, which should not take more than a few minutes each day to complete. This is done to ensure that you can recall the emails and passwords provided for all 5 sites. The quiz may be taken multiple times, but needs to be taken at least once a day to qualify to participate in the in-person study.
• Schedule a time to complete the in-person study in Schorr 202. This part of the study will take no more than 30 minutes. Students will be contacted to schedule a time once participation is confirmed.
During the in-person study, students will be asked to complete a consent form, two questionnaires, and then login to the above sites using your memorized emails and passwords. Students will also be asked to login using a different login/passwords we provide to you during the study for each of the above sites. During this process, eye movements will be recorded as tasks are completed. Those who choose to participate in the study will be compensated with $10 upon completion.
Please fill out this google form if you are interested in participating in the study.
