The "Science and Gender Matters" event will be part of the No Limits Student Conference, which will be held March 1-2, 2013 at the Nebraska Union, the Nebraska East Campus Union, and the Sheldon Museum of Art.
Janet Kourany, Feminist Philosopher of Science at the University of Notre Dame, will be the keynote speaker. She will present "But What Happens When the Scientists Are Women?" on Friday, March 1 at 4:30 p.m. at the Sheldon Museum of Art. The speech will challenge the assumption that science would be less sound if women were allowed to conduct research.
There will also be a roundtable discussion titled "Applying Gender to Psychology Research: Helping Students Create New Knowledge" on Saturday, March 2 at the Nebraska Union.
The event is free and open to the public.
