As presented by the event's Facebook page:
Ethiopia is the home of the African Union, ancient and Biblical history and a source of water for an entire continent. However, the West has only seen stereotypical stories of famine and war that offer a limited view of this United States ally. Ethiopia's Unseen seeks to tell the stories of Ethiopians who, through faith and optimism in the face of overwhelming odds, build meaningful lives and smile more broadly than people in the Western hemisphere.
This will be a multimedia documentary with live African music and traditional dance starting at 6:30 p.m. The video presentation will start at 7:30 p.m, with stories from UNL photojournalism students.
The Rococo Theater is located at 128 N 13th Street in Lincoln. The cost is simply a suggested donation to the international UNL scholarship fund. There will also be a raffle of autographed items from Howard Buffett, Joel Sartore and Michael Forsberg; additional items such as a camera, photo bags and items/gift cards from local businesses.
