Recently the ACM chapter had its local programing contest which included 14 teams of students competing. All the teams did well and worked throughout the five hour competition to put in good showings. This problem set was also used on a national scale as a practice competition, and our top teams ranked in the top 25% of teams from that competition (of over 650 competing teams.)

In 1st place, with 6 problems solved: Kiats in Tall Grass - Davis Goodin, Wayatt Goodin, Veronica Teleger

In 2nd place, with five problems solved: We Thought You GNU - Nathan McKain, Ben Fenwick, Cody Brown

In 3rd place, four problems solved: Oops - Spencer Landis, Jesse Epperson, Jedd Patterson

In 4th place also with with four problems solved:
The Exceptions - David Shriver, Christian Laney, Trevor Hall

Congratulations to all and good job on a difficult problem set. These teams will be going on to compete in the regional contest on the 8th of November. This contest will be against teams from seven states and two Canadian provinces. The top placing teams from that contest will be invited to compete in the international level competition in Morocco.

Again, congratulations to those who competed! Students are encouraged to compete next year.
