First-Year Experience & Transition Programs is hiring peer mentors to work with a variety of undergraduate students including international students, transfer students, and first-year students. Peer Mentors serve as academic, leadership, and social role models for UNL undergraduate students by sharing their own successes and lessons learned related to:

-Developing study habits
-Utilizing campus resources
-Managing and balancing their time
-Participating in diversity experiences
-Demonstrating leadership in campus and community activities

Peer Mentors are paid $10.00 per hour for an average of 4 hours for approximately 15 weeks per semester (not including university breaks or finals week).

Requirements to apply

-Full-time undergraduate student at UNL
-Good academic standing (2.5 GPA or above) and judicial standing at UNL
-Energetic and enthusiastic about helping new students from diverse backgrounds connect to UNL
-For the transfer peer mentor position- transferred from another institution (2-year or 4-year)
-For the international peer mentor position- international student status
-All students must be available for one of the training times.

Peer Mentor Spring Training will be Thursday, April 28th from 3:30-4:30 p.m. OR Friday, April 29th from 11:00-12:00 p.m.
