Attend Hack K-State

In partnership with Major League Hackathons, the K-State Web Development and Mobile Development Clubs are hosting Hack K-State.

-Work on teams of up to 4 people to create a project in 40 hours time.
-Make connections in the student developer community
-Meet industry representatives
-Teach what you know, learn what you don't
-Food and snacks provided all weekend
-Tons of tech to play with, including:
Intel Edison
Pebble
Leap Motion
Myo
Arduino
Oculus (12 of them)
...and more

-Who's eligible to compete?

Current students, high school through grad school, and those who have graduated in the past 12 months.

-How much does it cost?

Free for participants, our event is entirely supported by sponsors who want to hire you. :)

-But I don't know how to make anything.

Hackathons are a great way to learn! We'll have mentors available to help point you in the right direction. You've got nothing to lose, so come and hack with us.

-What about sleep?

While we will supply plenty of coffee for the weekend, those of us who choose to sleep can do so in our designated quiet area.

-Will there be prizes?

Yes.

-Will I need to bring my own laptop?

Yes, preferably; however, we will have CIS department computer lab machines available and a very limited number of laptops to check out. You'll have the best luck bringing your own device, configured just the way you like.

-OMG Hacking?!?!

Please note that Hack K-State hacking will be of the awesome variety, not the evil variety. Students interested in learning how to create and develop with code are welcome! Parents interested in learning how to log into their kids' Facebook accounts need not apply.
