Summer New Student Enrollment Student Specialists Needed

Are you staying in Lincoln for the summer? The College of Engineering is in need of 4-6 students to assist during New Student Enrollment!

Responsibilities:
-Keep the incoming freshmen students engaged while waiting to be advised.
-Share your experiences with transitioning to UNL, utilizing campus resources, being in involved, personal struggles you overcame, etc.
-Offer major-specific perspective on course selection, minors, etc.
-Engage with parents during Take a Parent to Lunch as to how they can help their student with their transition.
-Escort students to other UNL offices as needed.
-Run campus errands for CoE NSE staff/faculty as needed.
-Reset advising room for next day.

Requirements:
-Must be in good standing in the College of Engineering – any major and class level.
-Outgoing with excellent oral communication skills.
-Are utilizing or have utilized campus resources to overcome struggles with your transition from high school resource centers, tutoring, study groups, etc.
-Involved on campus and/or in the community.

Hours:
8:00 am until the advising room clears, usually 3-4 pm. Lunch will be provided at Take a Parent to Lunch in Selleck Dining Hall.

$8.00/hour

June: 2, 3, 6, 7, 8, 10, 17, 24, 25, 28, 29, 30
July: 7

Can be a bit flexible with class schedules if you are planning to take summer courses.
