Job title: Senior IT Broadcast Engineer
City: Omaha, Nebraska
This full-time position is responsible for the installation and maintenance of computer systems hardware and software. Provides operational support for the organization's information systems and peripheral equipment, such as application servers, database servers, web servers, desktops, printers and storage devices. Performs recovery procedures, scheduling and backups, and monitors batch processes.
Key activities:
-Installs and maintains PC/MAC systems and software incl. Final Cut Pro and Edius editing systems, Adobe applications and peripheral applications that support a collaborative news environment.
-Installs and supports Cisco Switches, PC/MAC servers, Open Directory, Active Directory, FTP file sharing
-Supports Web Streaming systems and applications.
-Assisting with Broadcast IP based systems.
Installs and maintains Windows desktop computers, mobile phone deployments, general support, and troubleshooting.
-Maintains phones, fax machines, and printers.
-Assists with network and computer documentation.
Education & Experience/Certifications:
-Technical school diploma or high in Windows based computer systems, MAC systems and networking
-Experience in Windows and MAC environments, SAN, Fibre Channel, mobile and smart phone.
-Broadcast engineering experience in a TV facility.
Skills & Abilities:
-Able to work cooperatively with other members of the station to solve technical problems
-Able to work in a fast paced, highly stressful environment
-Knowledge of Windows and MAC OS X systems
-Knowledge of IP based routing and switching
Work environment:
-Flexible work hours, including holidays, weekends, evenings, and possible overtime hours and on-call availability.
-Ability to lift loads of up to 70 lbs.
-Valid driver's license required.
