Lincoln Hour of Code is an annual event hosted at Nebraska Innovation Campus. This year's event happens on Dec. 9 from 9 a.m. to noon. Students and families can visit over 20 interactive booths, visit mentors from local technology companies, and get inspired to find your own path in the coding and technology industry.
Hour of Code, organized by the nonprofit Code.org and over 100 others, is a global movement that believes the students of today are ready to learn critical skills for 21st century success.
At the Lincoln Hour of Code event, students will complete an Hour of Code tutorial that will either introduce coding concepts in a fun, interactive manner, or challenge coding veterans with more advanced activities. Students and families then go upstairs to experience a wide range of interactive technology, showcased by local businesses and organizations passionate about sharing this empowering, modern skill with young people.
This year, we are proud to have Lincoln Girls Who Code, Lincoln Coding Women, Nebraska Innovation Studio, and many more! We look forward to seeing you!
Please plan to bring your laptop, smartphone, or tablet. We will have a number of devices available for those that do not have their own. Your student will be supported by mentors, and parents will be supported with coffee from the Mill!
