Nebraska Public Power District (NPPD) has an opening for a Resource Planning Intern in the Resource Planning and Risk Department. The work location for this internship is NPPD’s General Office in Columbus, Nebraska. Depending where the intern resides, some telecommuting may be possible.
This is a temporary position starting approximately May 15, 2019 to no later than August 31, 2019 (depending on student availability). Work schedule is Monday through Friday; 40 hours/week.

Note: The intern must be enrolled in an accredited four-year college/university carrying a minimum of 12 semester units with sophomore, junior, or senior standing in a related major and must maintain enrollment during the internship. Junior or senior status is preferred. The internship/training must be in the student's field of study. College credit may apply to some internships.
Summary of Duties:
R is a programing language for statistical computing and graphics for quantitative data analysis. The intern will be developing new tools and converting SAS code to R.
The Intern must work well within a team environment and focus on safety.
Fitness For Duty:
The person filling this position is subject to Nebraska Public Power District's Fitness for Duty Program.
Education, Training, and Experience:
Education: Applicant must be working toward a Bachelor’s Degree in statistics (analysis), data science, economics, mathematics, engineering, or computer programming and have completed their first year of college at a minimum.
Experience: Significant experience with R programming language is required.
Salary Information: $15.00 to $20.00 an hour, depending on experience
