The Department of Computer Science and Creative Media Industries Institute at Georgia State University will host the NSF REU Site: an 8-week Summer Research for Undergraduates in Immersive Media Computing for 10 students.

Each REU participant will work with faculty advisors, industry advisors, graduate student mentors, and other undergraduate students to carry out a research project in areas such as VR/AR, 360-degree video, image processing, video streaming, image analysis, computer vision, GPU and parallel computing, etc. The REU students will have access to state-of-the-art VR/AR lab, WorldViz VR/AR CAVE, 4DViews volumetric capture lab, etc. Tutorials, research talks, and programming workshops will be held to guide the students. The REU students will have the opportunity to submit and present their work at academic conferences. We particularly encourage underrepresented students (such as minority and women) to apply.

Atlanta is a modern city with rich traditions. Major attractions include World of Coca-Cola, Georgia Aquarium, Centennial Olympic Park, Center for Civil and Human Rights, CNN, Mercedes Benz Stadium, College Football Hall of Fame, the Margaret Mitchell House, etc. Most of the attractions are close to Georgia State University campus.

Eligibility:
1. US citizen or permanent resident of the United States 2. A full-time undergraduate student in STEM fields.

Financial Support:
8-week Stipend: $4,000
Meal allowance: $1,350
Travel allowance: $500
On-campus university housing (included)
