Silicon Prairie News will hold Omaha's first Startup Job Crawl. The event will be February 15th from 5:00-8:00 p.m. in the downtown area and will give students the opportunity to meet with employers on an informal basis. Students will be able to experience company culture and get an idea of where to apply for jobs and internships.
Most of the participating 25 employers are seeking to hire computer science students and students interested in software development.
There will opening and closing receptions in the Mastercraft building. Food will be available.
Participating companies include Volano Solutions, Bloom.com, CAMP, Deal Garden, Grain & Mortar, Honest Policy, Inc., Hudl, Hurrdat Social Media, Layeredi, Lodo Software, Mialio Group, MindMixer, PeggyBank, Secret Penguin, SEMCAT, What Cheer, Sojern, Nebraska Global, Hayneedle, Fusion Tree, Contemporary Analysis, AJ Good L.L.C., Big Wheel Brigade, Intertwine Interactive, and KANEKO.
Des Moines Job Crawl recently had a similar job crawl which hosted over 80 students and 22 startups. Two out of three employers said they met someone they are interested in hiring.
