Sonja Ann S. Kalkwarf, a graduate of the NebraskaNOYCE program, was named the Educator of the Year for 2023 by the Nebraska Developmental Education Consortium at its annual conference, held this year at Central Community College in Columbus.
Kalkwarf was in the first cohort of Noyce Teaching Fellows and earned her Master of Arts in mathematics teaching from UNL in 2013. She was nominated by her department chairs, Jennifer Euteneuer and Carrie Campbell. Kalkwarf is an instructor of Developmental Mathematics.
