The International Day of Mathematics (IDM) is a worldwide celebration. Each year on March 14 all countries will be invited to participate through activities for both students and the general public in schools, museums, libraries and other spaces.
Every year they announce a theme to flavor the celebration, spark creativity and bring light to connections between mathematics and all sorts of fields, concepts and ideas.
In 2024 they want to celebrate mathematical games, puzzles and other entertaining activities, but also "playing" with mathematics itself, exploring, experimenting, and discovering. "Play" with the theme!
In some languages the verb play means other things, like "performing" and instrument, or "acting" in a theater.
