Congratulations to Dec. 2024 graduate Mahoney

Patrick Mahoney, mathematics teacher at Papillion La Vista High School, was awarded a Master of Arts for Teachers degree in mathematics from the University of Nebraska-Lincoln at the Graduate Commencement ceremony on Dec. 20, 2024.

Patrick Mahoney, mathematics teacher at Papillion La Vista High School, was awarded a Master of Arts for Teachers degree in mathematics from the University of Nebraska-Lincoln at the Graduate Commencement ceremony on Dec. 20, 2024.

Along with fellow teachers Annie Dickinson and Gina Quedensley, Mahoney co-wrote an expository paper titled "A Primer on Amazing Primes" while working toward the degree. The paper included an explanation of the "Fundamental Theorem of Arithmetic," the theorem that Natural number can be uniquely written as a product of primes.
