Recently, Achieve released a set of state-by-state reports (https://states.achieve.org/transparency-report) that show how transparent states are in reporting data about how well they’re preparing students for college and careers. Only 5 states rank lower than Nebraska on transparency.
In far too many cases, data is either not reported at all or not reported in a way that is useful to educators, parents, and policymakers. Before we can improve high school graduates’ readiness for success, educators, parents, and states need to have a complete picture of how students are actually performing. This new set of reports evaluates the transparency of every state's public reporting on eight indicators of college and career readiness. Once you’ve looked through the reports, test your state college and career readiness transparency knowledge by taking this quiz: https://www.achieve.org/transparency-quiz. The Ready Washington Coalition discusses Washington State’s report and where their state can improve in public reporting in this post on Medium: https://medium.com/@ReadyWA/new-report-transparency-matters-for-our-students-success-3d6913e76f.
