Hosted by Mary Jane Bruce, the stories explore what inspires faculty and their research, along with the lessons they've learned in the classroom and field.
Bruce sits down with Lisa Knoche, research associate professor at the Nebraska Center for Research on Children, Youth, Families and Schools, to discuss the center's and university's pioneering work in early childhood development.

Knoche discusses why the challenges of early childhood require a multidisciplinary approach, explaining how the research center assembles experts in early learning, social-emotional development, nutrition, educational policy and other areas. She also highlights the importance of partnering with communities to gain their perspectives and trust when piloting intervention programs.
Later, Knoche describes how witnessing the same children and teens cycle through a psychiatric ward informed her views on systemic reform and ultimately guided her career path. Bruce wraps the episode by asking Knoche to share her best evidence-based advice on helping young children thrive in the home and classroom.
