Join us for our last seminar of the semester as Dr. Amy Bennett shares her research about "Adapting in space: How math instructors navigate active learning in a collaborative classroom".

Abstract:
The physical learning space is an institutional factor that can influence efforts to improve undergraduate STEM instruction. In this talk, I present the experiences of three mathematics instructors as they navigated teaching in innovative, collaborative spaces and in traditional classrooms. This study highlights the challenges of adapting instructional practices for multiple types of learning spaces and emphasizes the resources and support systems required within STEM departments to sustain instruction improvement efforts among all faculty.
