Terracotta opportunity running randomized controlled experiments in Canvas

Are you a UNL instructor interested in participating in a multi-institution study trialing “Terracotta”, developed out of Indiana University?

Terracotta allows instructors to run randomized controlled experiments with assignments in Canvas courses, for example distributing two different versions of an assignment to students. The system manages student consent, implements within-subject crossover, and outputs a deidentified data set for the researcher.

Indiana is seeking two other institutions with which to partner for a competition. It could include prize money and a multi-author publication. If UNL can identify 5-7 instructors who want to participate in Fall 2022, we can reach out to Indiana and see if we can one of the partner institutions.
