Invitation for Applicants: Graduate Research Assistant

Dr. Deepika Menon (PI) is seeking a graduate research assistant to work on a collaborative NSF-funded project. Under the direction of PI, the GRA will play a critical role in data collection, data analysis, dissemination of findings, and outreach. This position pays a stipend, tuition, and health insurance.

The NSF-funded project, Research on Integrated STEM Self-Efficacy (RISE), will study elementary teachers’ STEM integration across ten different U.S. teacher preparation programs. The project will investigate links between integrated STEM teaching self-efficacy, teacher preparation and development opportunities, teaching effectiveness, and teacher retention. The larger PI team includes Dr. Deepika Menon (UNL), Dr. Jeanna Wieselmann (Southern Methodist University), Dr. Sarah Haines (Towson University), and Dr. Sumreen Asim (Indiana University Southeast).

Required qualifications:
Earned Master’s degree in education, preferably science education, STEM, or closely related field
Interest in integrated STEM instruction at the elementary level
Strong organizational skills

Preferred qualifications:
Elementary teaching experience
Demonstrated commitment to collaboration
