New NSF solicitations!

Experiential Learning for Emerging and Novel Technologies (ExLENT)
Through this new initiative, the Directorate for Education and Human Resources and the newly established Directorate for Technology, Innovation and Partnerships seek to support experiential learning opportunities for individuals from diverse professional and educational backgrounds that will increase access to, and interest in, career pathways in emerging technology fields (e.g., advanced manufacturing, advanced wireless, artificial intelligence, biotechnology, quantum information science, semiconductors, and microelectronics). Pivots and Beginnings Track proposals are due March 2, 2023, and proposals to all tracks will be due September 14, 2023.

Arecibo Center for STEM Education and Research (ACSER)
The ACSER program solicits proposals for the establishment of the ACSER at the original site of the Arecibo Observatory (AO). NSF seeks to evaluate proposals that would transition the existing AO site to the new ACSER, shifting the disciplinary focus from primarily on the astronomical sciences to science, technology, engineering, and mathematics (STEM) education and research more broadly. The full proposal deadline is February 28, 2023.

Expanding AI Innovation through Capacity Building and Partnerships (ExpandAI)
The ExpandAI program aims to significantly broaden participation in AI research, education, and workforce development through capacity development projects and through partnerships within the National AI Research Institutes ecosystem. Submission window dates are January 9 - March 13, 2023.

Improving Undergraduate STEM Education (IUSE)
The Improving Undergraduate STEM Education: Directorate for STEM Education is a core National Science Foundation STEM education program that seeks to promote novel, creative, and transformative approaches to generating and using new knowledge about STEM teaching and learning to improve STEM education for undergraduate students. Capacity-Building and Level 1) proposals and Engaged Student Learning (Level 1 proposals are due January 18, 2023. Level 2 and Level 3 proposals are due July 19, 2023.

The IUSE program is hosting office hours on Tuesday, November 8, 2022, December 6, 2022, and January 3, 2023, from 3:00-4:00 PM ET. Zoom link for all IUSE Office Hours.
