Order of the Engineer initiations coming up

The Nebraska link of the Order of the Engineer is accepting new members.

The Order of the Engineer is for graduating seniors (May 2015 or August 2015) and graduate students from an ABET-Accredited Engineering Program. Construction management students are not eligible to join.

The UNL initiation ceremonies will be held both in Lincoln and Omaha. The Lincoln ceremony is set for 4:30 p.m. April 20 in Othmer 106. The date and time for the Omaha ceremony is yet to be determined.

A one-time initiation fee for the Order of the Engineer is $20. Payment will be accepted prior to or at the ceremony: cash or check only.

As part of the membership, you will receive a ring to wear. Go to the registration form to include your ring size (the small finger of working hand - if unknown, you can use the sizing device prior to the ceremony. http://engineering.unl.edu/order-engineer/

The Order of the Engineer is an association of engineers dedicated to the teaching, administration, or practice of their profession. To be initiated, you adhere to a professional creed and accept a stainless steel ring to be worn on the working hand. The obligation is voluntary and for life.
