4 grad students receive top honors as Engineering Graduate Award recipients

Four College of Engineering graduate students - Bora Polatsu, Mingyu Gong, Qiang Li and Jiating Li - received the top honors as 2018-19 College of Engineering Graduate Award recipients. The awards were among the many presented May 1 at the Graduate Student Recognition Reception.

The Engineering Graduate Awards are:

* Outstanding Graduate Teaching Assistant – Bora Pulatsu – Architectural Engineering (PhD) (advisor: Ece Skourup)

This award is presented annually to a graduate student in the College of Engineering in recognition of special effectiveness in teaching undergraduates in a variety of settings.

* Outstanding Graduate Research Assistant – Mingyu Gong – Engineering with specialization in Materials Engineering (advisor: Jian Wang)

This award is presented annually to a graduate student in the College of Engineering in recognition of the excellent quality of research carried out by that student.

* Outstanding Dissertation – Qiang Li – Engineering with specialization in Biomedical Engineering (advisor: Yuguo Lei)

This award is presented annually to a graduate student in the College of Engineering in recognition of original work in the form of a doctoral dissertation that has made an usually significant contribution to the discipline.

* Outstanding Master’s Thesis – Jiating Li – Agricultural and Biological Systems Engineering (advisor: Yeyin Shi)

This award is presented annually to a graduate student in the College of Engineering in recognition of original work in the form of a Master’s thesis that has made an unusually significant contribution to the discipline.
