Dr. Lacey's Weekly Message!

Hey Gang!

The time of spooks and free candy is upon us! Usually, I dress up, but I’m not sure if I’ll do that this year. Penelope is dressing up as a character in a game, a pizza delivery guy named Elliott. Last month, she was like “oh, I don’t want to go trick or treating,” because she’s “shy” and doesn’t want to go up to random people’s houses. And I’m like, “but…FREE CANDY.” So I put the kibosh on that and said, “oh, you’re going. We’re doing this. You’re going to get bags of free candy and you’re going to like it.” I know that sounds mean, but I’m right. Like I was SUPER shy when I was her age, but it was overridden by FREE CANDY. And there will be none of this, “oh, I have enough now, we can stop.” Like, what. No. That’s not how this works. This is why I bring an extra bag or two so you can dump out your bucket and keep going. We take pictures of your enormous haul and send it to family members, like hunters share pics of their kills during deer season. It is an accomplishment worthy of note. And also, I get all your Baby Ruths.

Anyway, I hope you all get to do something fun this weekend, even if it’s not Halloween related (I suppose I’ll allow it). There’s a lot of new stuff in the newsletter this week – read on!
