Spring Course Highlight! - WMNS/SPAN 315: Gender & Sexuality in Hispanic Cultures

SPAN/WMNS 315: Gender & Sexuality in Hispanic Cultures is an introductory course to the representation of gender and sexuality in Hispanic cultures from the 18th & 19th centuries to the present time, with a special focus on the 20th & 21st centuries. Students will analyze a variety of literary and cultural works from Spain and Latin America such as short stories, poetry, drama, essays, songs, art, film, and videos. The focus will be on women's studies and feminism, masculinities, sexualities, and LGBTQ+ issues. Requirements include active participation, two exams, quizzes, a presentation, and a final project.

This course is conducted in Spanish. If you are a heritage speaker of Spanish or have already taken a 300-level Spanish course, you would be eligible to take this course.
