The Department of English is seeking submissions for our annual writing contests! At the undergraduate level, there are eight competitions:
> The Vreeland Awards (poetry & prose)
> Marjorie Stover Awards for Short Story
> Wilbur Gaffney Scholarly/Critical Essay
> Wilbur Gaffney Personal/Creative Non-Fiction Essay
> Irby F. Wood Prize for Undergraduate Poetry
> Gaffney Prize for Undergraduate Poetry
> Douglas C. Beckwith Film Studies Excellence Award*
> Ted Kooser Award for Outstanding First-Year Writers*
*These awards require nominations by the student's professor.
