Sponsored by the Nebraska Writers Project and UNL's Department of English, Young Writers Camp (YWC) is a two-week opportunity for middle school and high school creative writers take workshops in slam poetry, fiction, non-fiction, fantasy, mystery, song-writing, poetry, memoir, and screen writing!

Young Writers Camp is seeking undergraduate interns to work with these students. Hours are 9-2pm, M-F, July 13-24, in Andrews Hall. Interns have the opportunity to:
> Plan writing workshops
> Collaborate with local writers and teachers
> Facilitate small group discussions about writing
> Document and write about their experiences
> Expand their own creative writing portfolio
> Help document and promote YWC

Interested students should send a letter of interest detailing their experience writing, teaching, mentoring, and/or journalism (especially if you have any experience in video journalism) and a current resume to Dr. Stacey Waite at swaite2@unl.edu. Deadline to apply is Friday, May 1. Note that this internship is unpaid, though students can take an internship course for credit (ENGL 495).
