Physical and social environments, as well as the accessibility of services, have a profound impact on human health. Medical and health geography link disease phenomena with the geographies of care delivery. In this course, students explore political economies of health care, the geographic distribution of services, the impacts of location in both care utilization and access, emphasizing the importance of “place” in health outcomes.
