Engagement Zones 7, 9, 11, and Raising Nebraska Submission Window

Being prepared, matters, and Emergency Action Plans help you plan for the unexpected. Nebraska Extension and UNL’s Office of Emergency Preparedness and Planning encourage all county Extension offices and Extension units to keep their Emergency Action Plans current and ready to use.

Emergency Action Plans outline essential information staff may need during an emergency, including office locations, contact details, shelter-in-place guidance, evacuation procedures, and more. Having this information up to date helps protect our people and supports faster, clearer decision-making when it matters most.

Current submission window - May 1 – June 30: Zones 7, 9, 11, and Raising Nebraska

Online resources are available to support the review and update process, including the most current EAP template. Go to https://disaster.unl.edu/Emergency-Action-Plans

Remember, Emergency Action Plans are living documents. While plans are submitted annually for organizational records, they should be updated throughout the year whenever changes occur, such as staff transitions or office location changes.

Looking ahead, the next submission window will be September 1 – October 31 for Zones 2, 3, and 5.
