NWS Seasonal Safety Campaign - Spring

March 1 marked the start of meteorological spring. The National Weather Service has a variety of information on spring safety topics, which include social media plans, infographics, videos, and presentations. Spring safety information can be accessed here: https://www.weather.gov/wrn/spring-safety

The purpose of the National Seasonal Safety Campaign is to build a Weather-Ready Nation, one that is prepared for extreme weather, water, and climate events.

Nebraska Extension has been a Weather-Ready Nation ambassador since 2015. As a WRN ambassador, we commit to:

-Promoting Weather-Ready Nation messages and themes to their stakeholders
-Engaging with NOAA personnel on potential collaboration opportunities
-Sharing success stories of preparedness and resiliency
-Educating employees on workplace preparedness

Our organization plays an important role in relaying critical information to the public. Consider how you can share or incorporate spring safety messages into your communication strategies and programs.
