Nebraska Extension and UNL’s Office of Emergency Planning and Preparedness are proud to recognize six additional county Extension offices for their efforts to complete emergency action plans in 2020:

- Buffalo County
- Cass County
- Dakota County
- Dodge County
- Gage County
- Hamilton County

By going through the emergency action plan (EAP) process, these counties identified shelter-in-place locations, outlined evacuation procedures, created office maps, and compiled staff contact lists. These county offices join 35 other offices/units in completing EAPs this year, and our organization has surpassed the numbers of EAPs completed in 2019. In 2020, 49% of Extension offices and units completed an EAP.

All counties and Extension units are encouraged to complete a local plan, and EAPs (both new and revised) are accepted on a continuous basis. Information about the 2021 EAP process is available in this issue of the Disaster Response Update.
