Hello Geology Majors,
I hope things continue to go well as we move into the final days of the regular academic session of the fall semester. I also hope that you have been able to stay healthy and well.
Even though the regular academic session for the fall semester ends on Wednesday, November 25 and the regular academic session for the spring starts on Monday, January 25, I will remain available from Monday, November 30 to Friday, January 22. The University will be shut down from Thursday, December 24 to Sunday, January 3, which will be the only time that I am completely away from work. If you have questions about anything or would to discuss your future plans, I will remain available for both appointments and drop-in meetings from November 30 to December 23 and January 4 to January 22. Please do not hesitate to contact me.
If you still haven't thought about classes for the Spring 2021 semester, there is still time to do so. Open registration for the Spring 2021 semester will continue until Monday, January 25 for the regular academic session and until Monday, January 4 for the 3-Week Session. I would be happy to meet with you to discuss your course options and your degree requirements along with your future plans and goals.
Final exams will be a little different this semester with exams starting on Saturday, November 21 and running through Wednesday, November 25. You should be working on a study plan now if you haven't already done so. I would be glad to help if you are feeling a little overwhelmed with sorting out a study plan for your final exams.
Spring 2021 Course Formats
Remember, attendance will be required for in-person and web conferencing courses for the Spring 2021 semester. Please do not enroll in an in-person course that you do not plan to or are unable to attend in-person. In addition, please do not enroll in a web conferencing course that conflicts with an outside of class commitments. If you have any questions about this, please do not hesitate to contact me.
Thanks, Doug
