Throughout the year, the International Student and Scholar Office (ISSO) conducts various immigration workshops for UNL faculty and staff. The topics for these workshops range from academic advising to hosting visiting scholars, and from immigration policies to procedures for hiring foreign national employees.

The next workshop, which will focus on permanent residency, will be held February 26 from 10:00 to 11:30 a.m. in Regency A of the Nebraska Union (City Campus).

March’s workshop will focus on the H-1B process, while April will include a Q&A session with academic and faculty advisors. The dates for the March and April workshops will be announced soon. Invitations will be sent to faculty and staff for the workshops and posted on the ISSO website.

ISSO also hosts a variety of social programming for the international students and scholars currently on campus. The next event is “A Night in Vegas,” sponsored by Campus Night Life on February 21. The event starts at 7:00 p.m. in the Nebraska Union Centennial Room and will include a fun evening of card games, music, mocktails and more.

Other upcoming events for students and scholars include a day trip to see the Sandhill Cranes and the Archway Museum in March, and a trip to the Omaha Zoo in April.
