International, non-international TA training programs available during January mini-session

During the 3-week term in January, the Office of Graduate Studies will host two concurrent, virtual TA training programs. These programs will focus on providing an introduction to effective teaching skills—whether teaching online or in-person—and will provide many opportunities to practice your teaching skills.

Both programs will run from January 6-19, 2021. One will be a version of the Institute for International Teaching Assistants (ITA) that's typically held in the summer. Additionally, there will be a second TA training program available to all TAs that features similar programming.

Both 2-week intensive programs are designed for newer or beginning TAs in all disciplines. Students will be expected to have time to fully commit to the programs and complete all assignments. There will be regular coursework and microteaching assignments throughout the programs.

You should not be teaching or taking classes while completing either of the TA training programs. The programs will be presented virtually, so students do not have to be in Lincoln when completing the program.

Application Instructions

Departments that wish to register their international students for ITA should contact Lisa Rohde at lrohde2@unl.edu for the registration form for their eligible students.

Students interested in the non-international TA training program should apply here.
