An end-of-semester message for the graduate community from Tim Carr, dean for graduate education.

Congratulations to students earning graduate degrees this semester! Your ability to adapt and persevere amid unforeseen circumstances has uniquely prepared you for future challenges. We have your success to thank for enhancing the national and global reputation of our graduate programs and the entire university. I have no doubt you will continue to be outstanding ambassadors of the University of Nebraska.

Thank you to faculty mentors who have provided guidance and encouragement! Your flexibility and support for our graduate students this semester has ensured excellence throughout the Graduate College. Your thoughtful mentorship paves the way for the success of our master’s and doctoral students, and I’m proud to have you as colleagues.

As winter break approaches, let’s hold our success as reason to keep ourselves and our community safe, even when doing so interrupts normalcy. It will take commitment from us all to finish the semester strong and in good health. As you take time to recharge, be mindful of the hard work put in for your accomplishments this semester.

On behalf of the entire staff in Graduate Studies, congratulations once again to all of our graduate students. My hope is that you find safe ways to celebrate your achievement with family and friends whose support has been essential to your educational journey.

Best wishes,
Dean Tim Carr
